Preparatory Survey on the Project for the Replacement of Air Navigation System at Kamuzu International Airport (February 2010)

ASCO was awarded the contract for the preparatory survey on the Project for the Replacement of Air Navigation System at Kamuzu Int値 Airport in February 2010. That Project aims to increase the air traffic safety through the improvement of air navigation system at Kamuzu International Airport, Republic of Malawi, on a grant basis.
Republic of Malawi is an inland country located in the east of south Africa, stretching north to south, surrounded by Republic of Mozambique, United Republic of Tanzania and Republic of Zambia. Republic of Malawi has the land area of 118km2 (app. 1/3 of Japan), the population of 14.28M, and the Gross National Income of 290USD per person.
The probable equipment for replacement is ILS, VHF & HF Radio, Console & Voice Switching System, MET facility, Power facility, etc.



Presentation of the outline of the New CNS/ATM Systems Development

Project for the Philippines (February 2010)

 

Presented by President Dr. Eiichi Chaki and Director Dr. Yukinori Otani

 

 

The presentation was made on the new CNS/ATM Systems Development project for the Philippines in February 2010 at the seminar hosted by Japan Radio Air Navigation Systems Association in Arcadia Ichigaya, Tokyo. ASCO JV commenced the consulting services for the said project in February 2008. The presentation document can be found here.



Preliminary Design of Multilateration System for New Chitose Airport
(October 2009)

 

Customer: Tokyo Regional Civil Aviation Bureau, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and
Transport

 

 

The contract on the preliminary design of Multilateration system for New Chitose Airport was awarded to ASCO in October 2009. The preliminary design includes requirement analysis, site selection, etc.
The movement of objects including aircraft can be more widely and precisely captured by the Multilateration System.



Basic Design of Airport Vehicle Positioning System (AVPS)
(August 2009)

 

Customer: Tokyo Regional Civil Aviation Bureau, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and
Transport

 

 

The contract on the basic design of AVPS for Tokyo Int値 Airport and New Chitose Airport was awarded to ASCO in August 2009. The basic design includes requirement analysis, system analysis, function and performance analysis, etc.
AVPS is used to monitor the movement of moving objects such as vehicles in the airport.



Yellow Ribbon Medal Award (Spring, 2007)

 

 

Dr. Eiichi Chaki, President of Aviation Systems Consultants Co., Ltd (ASCO)

 

 

Following the Science and Technology Agent Award in 1998 and Award from the Department of Transportation and Communications, Republic of the Philippines in 2006, Dr. Chaki was given the Yellow Ribbon Medal Award in spring, 2007 for the development of simulation technique on radio wave propagation in the vicinity of airports, which resulted in a significant improvement of air navigation safety in Japan. The simulation technique has contributed towards the development of air navigation technology including the new CNS/ATM systems in Japan for many years.
